Hua Chi, 70, is a monk at the Buddhist monastery in Tongren, Qinghai province, China. The pious man has knelt to pray in the exact same spot for nearly 20 years now. He’s performed the ritual so many times that his footprints are deeply ingrained in the wooden floor of his temple. When he was younger, he did it about 2,000-3,000 times a day. Now that he's aged, Hua says, he does it a mere 1,000 times a day. The result of his work over 20 years is that his footprints are now marked an inch and a half deep into the wood.

    Gear | News
Hidden Cash is the Twitter handle of an anonymous person who is leaving stashes of cash in public places in the San Francisco Bay Area. The person said they had made “millions of dollars” in the San Francisco real estate market and were looking for a way to give back. The person says they intend to stash cash once or twice a week and have no plans to stop. There is nothing commercial behind this. It is a social experiment," they wrote. "Our Twitter page will show people where the money is hidden. There are a few hundred dollars hidden last night already, and this will continue. We have two $100 bills hidden and some $20s." @Hidden Cash
"I’ve made millions of dollars the last few years, more than I ever imagined, and yet many friends of mine, and people who work for me, cannot afford to buy a modest home in the Bay Area. This has caused me quite a bit of reflection. I am determined to give away some of the money I make, and in addition to charity, to do it in fun, creative ways like this. "
