Biodegradable Coffee Kit by Portuguese designer Joana Carvalho. Accompanied by a coffee bean, it can be planted after use.
"The shape was inspired by the plastic model kits, due to the fact that they have a lowproduction cost, since all the pieces are made at the same time. The packaging is also an object itself, needs no other props or wasting more resources.
It is stackable too. The kit can be placed on the ground after use.

"Bridge is a story about four animal characters trying to cross a bridge, but ending up as obstacles to one another in the process. The moral behind this story revolves around how there are often disagreements or competing paths in life, and the possible results of pride, obstinance, and compromise.

GUNS (2009). Sculpture, resin and found objects, 15x79x60cm. No human hands pull the trigger. The gun/mob appears to take on a life of its own. Guns induces a sense of sadness and helplessness. Limp, wasted, lifeless miniature people suggest the impotence of war. The work impacts by using visual ambiguity. The multitude of colours implies playfulness, only to induce, on closer scrutiny, confusion and doubt.

    Motorized Bionic Leg
    Gear  |  Tech
Researchers at  Vanderbilt University in Tennessee has developed amputees a bionic "to walk without the leg-dragging gait characteristic of conventional artificial legs". Unlike the average peg-leg, the Vanderbilt leg has motors in the knee and ankle to actively move like the real thing. Sensors and microprocessors predict what the user is about to do and the leg moves accordingly.  The leg itself is also pretty light on power, running for up to three days (or 14 kilometers) on a single charge.
