    At Home Conveyor Sushi
    Gear  |  Toy
If you want to eat at a conveyor belt sushi (回転寿司 or "kaiten zushi") restaurant, kids in Japan need to have their parents take them. Soon, they'll be able get aboard the sushi train at home. This is "Super Seizing At Home Conveyor Sushi," a toy that will be out this spring in Japan. It's basically a plastic train set with coaches with plates on them. There is track so you can make a circle and then have your own rotating sushi restaurant in the comfort of your home.   Cool!

    Forcite Alpine Ski Helmet
    Gear  |  Sport

Australia's Forcite  Alpine Ski helmet lets the user shoot video, talk on the phone and alert the authorities if they crash – hopefully not because they were distracted by talking on the phone. It is equipped with a camera, communication system and Bluetooth connectivity. There is a camera (the camera on the Video Head helmet). It captures POV footage via a 160-degree lens at a maximum resolution of 1080p/120fps, smoothing out the bumps with an image stabilization system. Two OLED fog lights one on either side of the lens for filming in low light conditions. Both the lights and video recording are activated using button controls built into one of the side flaps. Both lights and camera can be controlled using buttons Integrated into the side flaps of the helmet which also includes a Bluetooth module. Looks Cool.

    Microsoft Hololens
    Gear  |  Tech

Microsoft announced their latest device called HoloLens. A holographic headset that aims to rival the most advanced virtual reality devices out there. The first demo, created in partnership with NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, takes me to the surface of a near-photorealistic Mars. Using real photography from the Curiosity rover, Microsoft was able to re-create a Martian landscape and overlay a 3D-map around a small, conference-room-size environment. With HoloLens, I'm not just able to see what it's like to walk around on Mars, but I'm also able to interact with the contents on the surface. Using a finger gesture called Air Tap, the HoloLens lets me mark certain spots on the surface for investigation and even lets me talk with another floating figure and collaborate on examining the surface...Watch the video of it in action.
"For the first time ever, Microsoft HoloLens seamlessly blends high-definition holograms with your real world. Holograms will improve the way you do things every day, and enable you to do things you've never done before."

This Batman bat house is adorable with its upside-down bat signal. This spooktacular little upside-down house is called Mus. It was made by Spanish design studio Estres in effort to demonstrate that having bats around is beneficial. According to the Organization for Bat Preservation:
Bats are not pests, they actually help control insect pests. An individual bat can eat thousands of mosquito-sized insects in one night. Bats are critical components to many ecosystems because they help control insect populations, pollinate flowers and fruit bats aid in seed dispersal.”
There are also plans available to build your own bat house.  Click here for more information, complete plans, instructions and a video tutorial.
