SmartHalo is a smart biking system that turned your bike into a smart bike. The circular device was designed to fit almost any bike, as it is fastened securely to your handlebars. SmartHalo wirelessly sinks to your smartphone, then providing you with the quickest and safest route to reach your desired destination. The accessory also tracks your bike metrics and acts as a type of health app while you are riding. When on board at night, SmartHalo will automatically turn on its nightlight, allowing you to in turn see and be seen. As the device is linked with your mobile phone, it will then alert you of incoming calls or messages while connected. Their Kickstarter page, here.

    Subway Love by  Max Stossel
"I wrote this as I waited for the F train at West 4th on a day where it just WASN’T coming. It was a particularly hot and sweaty day and as the station filled up it got hotter and sweatier. Eventually I realized we were 250 people staring into a black tunnel and I started trying to make eye contact with people. Love & life’s greatest opportunities are hiding right in front of our faces… and breathing hot, disgusting air down our necks.  "

    Gear  |  Film
You Will Soon be Able to buy Official ‘Star Wars’ x Campbell’s Soup.
"To that end, witness Campbell’s new Star Wars soup can, looking like something Andy Warhol would have painted ad infinitum if he had only been around to see the "Yo dog, I heard you like brands, so I put a brand on your brand" era of marketing. The cans feature many of the classic Star Wars characters who appear in J.J. Abrams’s forthcoming The Force Awakens like Chewbacca, C-3P0, R2-D2, Imperial Stormtroopers—as well as two, in Darth Vader and Yoda, who will likely only appear as little blue ghosts. According to the can’s label, the soup—pasta with chicken in chicken broth—comes in "Star Wars shapes," presumably so you can absorb your recommended daily intake of midi-chlorians through little Darth Vader and Yoda head shapes."

    Cameron s World
    Gear  |  Other
A beautiful and strangely haunting trip to a compilation of the Geocities-era web, made of carefully-rearranged bitmaps & bitrot.
The work of Cameron Askin, with javascript by Anthony Hughes and music by Robin Hughes, it's "a love letter to the Internet of old."
GeoCities was a web-hosting service that made it possible for people to build their own home pages. During the 90s, users from all over the world created personalized corners of the Internet.
By the time the U.S. service shut down in October 2009, there were over 38 million GeoCities pages. Cameron’s World brings together archived material from thousands and thousands of these sites.
In an age where we interact primarily with branded and marketed web content, Cameron’s World is a tribute to the lost days of unrefined self-expression on the Internet. This project recalls the visual aesthetics from an era when it was expected that personal spaces would always be under construction.
