    Typographical Bus Stop
    Gear  |  Pic
The bus stop was unveiled last month by artist collective mmmm…, a creative collaboration between Emilio Alarcón, Alberto Alarcón, Ciro Márquez, and Eva Salmerón, who have been designing public spaces in Madrid since 1998. This is their second project in the United States. Their wood and steel sculpture entitled BUS provides shelter for people from the sun and the rain, as well as provides a place to sit or lie down. Via the collective’s website:
"BUS is made with wood and steel, materials that are typically used to build urban furniture. The three letters of BUS are big enough to accommodate two to four people each and protect them from rain, sun, wind, and inclement weather. They allow people to assume different postures of sitting or standing while waiting for the bus. The S allows people to lie back while they wait, and the B provides shelter."

Man Dresses In A Suit Made Of Real Chicken Skin
    Gear  |  Other
Artists Victor Ivanov and Lewis Burton had decided to showcase ‘Flesh’ their multi-dimensional art project in the heart of the capital.  The suit of real chicken skin had been literally sewn onto Burton’s body and he wore it as he wandered around, stopping in various places and immediately drawing crowds as he did.
"FLESH is a multi-dimensional art project by artists Victor Ivanov and Lewis G Burton. FLESH is focused on a chicken skin body suit that Ivanov has sewn around Burton’s body from head to toe. FLESH is an experiment that examines the relationship between identity and its commodification through social medias; by creating an entity from chicken skin, a commodified object in itself, the artists are then introducing it into the social sphere, both online and offline.
This abnormality creates a stimulus for the general public to interact with, by allowing them to adopt FLESH as part of their cyber identity. To cement the relationship between the identity that is FLESH and the way it is mediated by cyber culture, the artists are creating a catalogue of FLESH products available to the public. The documented results are then used to create viral material, stimulating the social sphere and allowing it to redefine itself by acting as a platform for dialogue as well as a source of contemporary consumer culture."

RollScout's is a seek wall-mounted toilet paper holder, but it hides an infrared emitter and sensor. When the roll empties down enough, the emitter and sensor connect and the holder pulses with a round amber light to alert unsuspecting bathroom users to the dire nature of the situation.  If you missed the alert on your smartphone, then the RollScout’s blinking LED light will remind you of that fact so you can replace the old roll before doing your thing. RollScout's team has already built a working prototype, but it's looking to raise $37,500 to go into production. The RollScout is up for funding on Kickstarter, where a minimum pledge of $49 will get you one of your very own.

“Enter Pyongyang” is another stunning collaboration between city-branding pioneer JT Singh and flow-motion videographer Rob Whitworth. Blending time-lapse photography, acceleration and slow motion, HD and digital animation, they have produced a cutting‐edge panorama of a city hardly known, but one emerging on the visitor’s landscape as North Korea’s opening unfolds.
North Korea was the last country seemingly immune to change—but no longer. Recent years have witnessed mobile phone penetration, a surge in tourists, and even a marathon. Numerous special economic zones have been launched in cooperation with China, Russia, and South Korea, with railways planned linking all countries in the region. “Enter Pyongyang” captures not just the city, but this dynamism and sense of potential.

Skull Tea Infuser designed by Lee Jinyoung
    Gear  |  Design

Designer Lee Jinyoung of i-clue design has created a mini silicone skull to brew your tea.
"The story of Buddhist Master Wonhyo drinking water from a skull was the motive for the design of the skull tea infuser. Wonhyo felt extremely thirsty one night, and drank from a human skull full of brackish water. The truth that he had drunk water from a skull remained unchanged after he learned the truth about the water the next morning; therefore, he realized the truth that everything is created by one’s own mind. This product reflects the desire to feel Wonhyo’s significant meaning of life and have fun while taking a short time to drink tea in daily life. "
