iBar is a interactive bar counter(watch the video, cool!). Integrated the video projectors and touch surface. [ Thanks, David ]
"iBar is a system for the interactive design of any bar-counter. Integrated video-projectors can project any content on the milky bar-surface. The intelligent tracking system of iBar detects all objects touching the surface. This input is used to let the projected content interact dynamically with the movements on the counter. Objects can be illuminated at their position or virtual objects can be "touched" with the fingers. "

The Powerwise is Powered Table which hides eight electrical outlets. It is designed for help people handle their everyday electronic devices in a smarter way. In this charge station you can charge your iPods, camera, iPhone... A good way to store your gadgets. The Powerwise designed by Swedish based designers johanna strand and asa elmstam. I love this design!
"The chargers in Powerwise can be left in their sockets all the time. When you're not charging a device you simply turn off the electricity with the red switch. Chargers that are used seldom can be stored in a special compartment. When you don¡¯t need to charge anything at all you can pull out the plug from the wall and wind up the cord into one of the legs. The green cord retracts into the leg as a symbol of reduced consumption."

The Pixelnotes designed by Duncan Wilson. A great idea, your Pixel notes art!
"A wallpaper consisting of four layers of varying grey tones on a bright primary backing. Each layer is perforated in a grid format and backed with a tacky adhesive similar to 'post-it' notes. Pixelnotes is inspired by the way we work within a space. The walls become functional, an integrated noticeboard that documents our activity within the room. Pixelated formations and shapes develop according to our patterns of use."

Scan Toaster by Sung Bae Chang

Array
Home  |  Design
This Scan Toaster by South Korea designer Sung Bae Chang for the Electrolux Design Lab 2008 competition. You can print the news, weather forecast and photos on the bread. This concept is simple, Plug in the toaster to a free USB port, place the bread, and the software will then start burning whatever it is you want.
I have a new idea, Why not let the toaster can directly print and download the news, weather forecast via the Wifi network, not by the scan. It is simple, just press several botton: news or weather...
"I got the idea from looking at my scanner and printer beside my computer," explains Scan Toaster's creator, Sung Bae Chang, a design student at Sejong University in South Korea. "I was chatting with my friends and suddenly thought, 'How about scanning to a piece of toasting bread?' and then started to brainstorm the idea."

The Xylophone Bin by Dominic Wilcox. Designed for Danish company vipp's charity auction event in New York. Made from oak and steel the bin actually plays music.
When the pedal is pressed the lid opens, releasing a ball that travels down a 'helterskelter' set of xylophone steps around the bin. Each time the ball hits a step, a note is played. The xylophone steps are cut in increasing lengths so that the note gets deaper as the ball gets closer to the bottom.
As part of the auction event Vipp bins have been customised by artists, designers and celebrities including Bono, Michael Stipe and Helena Christensen. They are on show at the Conran shop East 59th st, 1st ave, New York from 4th - 17thSeptember 08. Auction will be held on the 18th september 08. Check out see this bin in the action.
