    The folding boat by student Thibault Penven from Ecole Cantonale d’art de Lausanne (ECAL).
    Called Ar Vag, the vessel comprises rigid boards sewn into a waterproof skin so it can be unfolded quickly and stiffened by pushing two folding rods, like tent poles, into pockets in the rim. A wooden plank inserted through apertures in the walls holds the whole thing under tension and forms a seat. Check out the video.

    Fluidity

    Basically, it is a dish drying rack that lets you grow your fresh herbs and any small plant you want. Called the Fluidity.
    "The water that trickles from the washed dishes irrigates the plants. The base, thanks to its fluid form, directs the wastewater into the sections where are plant containers placed. Each container is perforated at the bottom for water passage. The containers are filled with clay pellets and coconut fiber, to control the water environment of the plant on the one hand and to keep clean the dish drainer base on the other hand."

    London 2012 Olympics torch

    The aluminium torch was created by UK design studio, Barber Osgerby. It is perforated with 8,000 holes, each representing one of the torchbearers. Made from a golden aluminium alloy. The creative team behind the London Olympic torch has won the prestigious Design of the Year award 2012. The Olympic torch, along with the other shortlisted designs, is on show at the Design Museum in London until July 4.
