Samsung NX Series Hybrid Camera

Samsung has just announced the NX Series Camera! It could be the first hybrid camera which combines the DSLR image quality and compact point-and-shoot digital camera design. The Samsung's new NX Series feature like conventional DSLRs uses APS-C sized image sensor for a larger surface area to gather light. Unlike a DSLR, the NX Series does not feature a mirror box and employs an ultra-precise Electronic Viewfinder (EVF). The use of an EVF has allowed Samsung engineers to reduce the size and weight of the camera by decreasing the distance between the lens and image sensor (flange back) by approximately 60% compared to traditional DSLRs. The first model of the NX Series will be available in the second half of 2009. There is no spec and price info now!

The Samsung TL320($380; May 2009) is a 12 megapixel with a 5x optical zoom and 24mm ultra wide lens, breaks ground by featuring the world's first 3.0-inch VGA AMOLED screen. Others featuring includes 720p HD video recording, HDMI output, dual image stabilization and dual analog gauges to show memory capacity and battery life. It will go on sale in May 2009.

The Ricoh's new 9 megapixel compact camera - CX1(£299; about $420), features a Dynamic Range Double Shot mode that shoots two images with different exposures, then combines them automately to give you the best naked-eye impression. It packed a 3" LCD display, with a 7.1x(28-200mm) optical wide-angle zoom lens. About the video, it can shoot at 120 frames/sec (640x480 pixel images). It will be available in March 2009.

Make Your Own 3D Camera For $15 or Less

Photojojo shows you how to make your own 3D camera for less than $15 and enter the fabulous world of the 3rd Dimension, all need just two disposable cameras and some duct tape.
Step 1: Turn one of the cameras upside down to get the two lenses as close together as possible (lenses aren't usually located in the center of the camera). Line the cameras up so the lenses are on the same level.
Step 2: Tape the cameras together with duct tape. Don't cover up the shutter buttons or winding mechanisms.
Step 3: Go out and shoot! To take a picture, press both shutter buttons at the same time.
Step 4: Just have fun and accept that this method won't give you pro results.
Since the lenses are about 4 inches apart and human eyes are usually 2.5 to 3 inches apart, the 3D effect won't be perfect. And besides, it's a disposable camera, so treat it as a toy and just have a good time.
Tips:
Having subjects in the foreground and the background will show more of the 3D effect. Just like any good 3D horror movie, the best shots show something coming out of the picture at you.
Remember that the cameras won't focus closer than about three feet.
If you need to use flash, turn on the flashes for both cameras and expect things to come out a little weird.
