Maxwell von Stein, a 22 year-old Cooper Union graduate, built a bicycle that uses a flywheel to store energy. Instead of braking, he will slow the bicycle down by transferring the kinetic energy from back wheel into the flywheel—which spins between the bars of the frame. When he needs an energy boost, he will be able to send the flywheel energy back to the wheel. Check out the video of Flywheel Bicycle.
